Lutheran High School downed Holy Familly 8-1 Aug. 12 at Westfield Park in Westminster. It was the season-opener for both teams.

Jordan Peterson had two of the Tigers' five hits. The Lions got a 10-strikeout, complete-game performance from poitcher Hailey Maestretti. Aleksia Severson added a pair of base hits and four RBIs.

Val;or Christian nipped the Tigers 6-5 Aug. 12, also in Westminster. Valor Christian scored twice in the fifth inning to pick up the come-from-behind win. Makaila Moosbrugger had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers. Peterson, Kaylee McDonald and Isabella Arroyo had base hits and RBIs.

Kaylie Whidden had a base hit and drove in three runs for Valor Christian. Ekuzabeth Canales had a base hit and two RBIs.
